Ahhh! LOVE it! What makes me crafty? Um, music helps, and an organized space, and seeing something that inspires me. Sketches, inspiration photos, or just flipping through my stamps!

Sara Paschal  – (January 31, 2012 at 7:15 AM)

Music is my best motivation for crafting and being organized is the second.

Katknit  – (January 31, 2012 at 7:20 AM)

I loved seeing the flash mob video ... it was great !!!!! Now, what makes me crafty .... why retirement!

Jeanne  – (January 31, 2012 at 7:22 AM)

Inspiration photos definitely help, as do the sketches! But sometimes (OK, a lot of times) just walking through a craft store gives me tons of inspiration.

Cherie  – (January 31, 2012 at 7:23 AM)

That's great! Everyone looks like they're having so much fun. Lately I've been finding that sketches make me feel crafty.

Sue in Grapevine  – (January 31, 2012 at 7:24 AM)

That must have been great to be a part of.
What makes me crafty? Sometimes the prompt is an need for a card or gift, but sometimes it's just seeing something cool & saying. "I can make that!"

Teresa  – (January 31, 2012 at 7:27 AM)

Seeing examples. They make me want to try to come up with my own. How fun--would love to do or see a flash mob like this!

sherry varga –   – (January 31, 2012 at 7:29 AM)

Love the flash mob. You guys look like you are having so much fun! I love inspiration from your facebook page and seeing other crafter's creations. It always gets my mojo started. I also love your sketches as they are a big help.

Ronni  – (January 31, 2012 at 7:30 AM)

Absolutely classic! Gotta adore multi-talented woman dancing together!

Scrappin with the bug  – (January 31, 2012 at 7:31 AM)

That flash mob was so awesome I watched it about 5 times. It was great. Glad you ladies did that.

I think just making something from scratch makes me crafty. I love to just relax and create little things for others to enjoy.

Thanks,

Terri

Lori  – (January 31, 2012 at 7:33 AM)

Great Flash Mob!!! I feel crafty after visiting all of my favorite card websites and blogspots...gets my creative juices flowing!!!

Redonna  – (January 31, 2012 at 7:35 AM)

How cute! I know that was fun for all! I keep telling myself that one day I will go to a CHA! And as for what makes me crafty? Well, I think it's the just a right brain thing . . . or wait, is it my left brain doing that? Gee, I forget now since every time I look at what the left/right brain controls I find that mine seems to be pretty equally utilized! I've been crafty all my life, in my teens I made all my halter tops. I even modified my jeans to make them match homemade tops, since the only pants we could wear to school had to be part of a pantsuit. I guess I should just say God made me that way.

justbyjo  – (January 31, 2012 at 7:37 AM)

Love the flash mob! Normally I look at sketches or through my own supplies for inspiration, but I think that the flash mob song will give me enough mojo for today's cardmaking endeavors!

Anonymous –   – (January 31, 2012 at 7:39 AM)

OMG!!!! That looked like so much fun!!!! I think that should be sent overseas to our heroes--think of the fun they would get out of it!!! Denise I. :)

Ann  – (January 31, 2012 at 7:39 AM)

My goodness!! The flash mob was awesome!!!!! The thought of our heroes needing us is what gets me crafty, along with all the cool things on the S&S blog and the fb page.

Bunnyfreak  – (January 31, 2012 at 7:40 AM)

The flash mob looked like fun. Can't beat a crafty flash mob.

Phyllis McKenna  – (January 31, 2012 at 7:40 AM)

How fun!!! Working with other crafters and sharing ideas and,of course, making cards for Operation Write home makes me crafty too.

Jan Brumbelow –   – (January 31, 2012 at 7:57 AM)

Flash Mob ... awesome ... A reason to make a card or anything out of paper makes me crafty, a great reason, OWH.

Lynn  – (January 31, 2012 at 8:01 AM)

Love the FlashMob! I've been crafty all my life. I love making things, like Redonna I did my own custom clothes in High School, but mine goes way back to making my own paper dolls and paper doll clothes when I was a child. Now it is everything from painting to sewing to papercraft and anything that sparks an idea in between. Love OWH!

How cute is this???? Love CHA...would love an apron...thanks

Nancy Boatwright –   – (January 31, 2012 at 8:44 AM)

Sorry. I did not read your note before I commented. I was just excited to comment on the FlashMob... So strike my previous comment. What makes me crafty? I think it is just the fact that I can do something I love to do and add a little joy to the life of another person. Thanks again for sharing the video and all your other reports.

Nancy M  – (January 31, 2012 at 8:47 AM)

If I ever need inspiration, I go to the 'piano music' video and off I go, into my craft area! I think if that ever doesn't work, I will be checking myself for a pulse!! I have been able to connect some more heroes to us recently--LOVE that!!!

Laurie  – (January 31, 2012 at 8:49 AM)

So cool! Love the girl in front with the angel wings. And Sandy, you looked like you were having a blast! Could see you so well at the beginning. What makes me crafty - getting a new tool or a new paper line!

Jean B in PA –   – (January 31, 2012 at 8:49 AM)

I think I found Sandy in the flash mob video! Bright or textured papers and fibers make me crafty (I do card making and needlework, too)

Velda  – (January 31, 2012 at 8:58 AM)

I feel like being crafty when I learn a new technique, like creating my own unique background for cards.

Kris Whittaker  – (January 31, 2012 at 8:59 AM)

Love the Flash Mob video! That music is sure to make me crafty, but mostly being relaxed and not pushed for time gets my creative mojo flowing. And cool new tools and papers to play with, that's for sure!

debbyj  – (January 31, 2012 at 9:03 AM)

Love the video!!! What makes me crafty?? New paper so I can make cards for OWH...

Donna  – (January 31, 2012 at 9:12 AM)

I love to listen to music and craft. I listen to Celtic Woman a lot. My inspiration is to make something that makes someone else happy. I love the flash mob and the pink aprons are wonderful! I am glad you are having such a great time Sandy!

Lee Ann  – (January 31, 2012 at 9:35 AM)

Would be proud to wear this apron! Can't wait to be inspired by all the new product at CHA!

Hey, looks like my Zumba class at our Parks & Rec! Seriously, I love creating objects with my own hands that people love to receive. Cardmaking is good for me because there are so many techniques to learn and tools to master - it provides the structure I need. As a writer, I can tell you there's nothing worse than a blank page. Same goes for cardstock.

TK  – (January 31, 2012 at 10:25 AM)

OWH, Sandy, and all of the wonderful crafty folks I have found locally because of OWH make ME crafty! My card making has gotten such a boost from knowing all these folks I can't even tell you! Thank you Sandy for all you do for everyone, from the service people away from home, to those of us here supporting them, bless you.

Love it! Wish I could be there. Pat K.

Anonymous –   – (January 31, 2012 at 10:35 AM)

Forgot to tell you what makes me feel crafty ... following the OWH facebook page and seeing what the others are doing definitely makes me feel crafty.

Lucy  – (January 31, 2012 at 10:38 AM)

What fun everyone had! Lately, I've been counting on my 4-year old niece to get me in the mood to be crafty. The first thing she says when she comes in is, "I want to make cards" or "I want to do arfts (yes, I spelled that just like she says it) and crafts." Her imagination knows no bounds, which is very inspirational. Enjoy the rest of the trip.

Diane Clark-Sutton  – (January 31, 2012 at 10:42 AM)

Looks like a lot of fun. I'm only 40 miles away yet it feels so far. I'm not very crafty by nature. I do make cards and love doing that so that is crafty enough for me. Besides my house doesn't have room for any other crafts. Hope you are enjoying our beautiful Southern California weather.

Sandy Trefger  – (January 31, 2012 at 10:56 AM)

Ha, ha, ha. That video looks like tons of fun! I feel crafty when I see new ideas, or new product, or lovely paper or hear good music! LOL

Rae Ann  – (January 31, 2012 at 11:04 AM)

You guys look so great in your matching aprons! I love that you are jamming to the Beastie Boys. They have been one of my favorites for years.

Great images and papers that I just can't wait to play with make me crafty.

I can't wait to see what you share next!

Krystil  – (January 31, 2012 at 11:16 AM)

The number 1 thing that gets me crafty, music! I need something I can sing along with and just have fun. I also get my inspiration from other people's creations. Seeing pictures & sketches really help!

lolo  – (January 31, 2012 at 11:22 AM)

Love the flash mob, it was great. Would love to have one of those pink aprons.

Aundria B.  – (January 31, 2012 at 11:23 AM)

Too much fun!! I feel crafty when I walk in my apartment and see all those wonderful papers looking up at me, just waiting to be made into beautiful cards

Susan M. Brown {sbartist}  – (January 31, 2012 at 11:30 AM)

Sandy - that's my sister Alice and I flanking you in your photo at the top of this post. It was awesome flash mobbing and also meeting you in person! OWH rocks!!!

Maggie  – (January 31, 2012 at 11:46 AM)

Super COOL. You guys did a great job. What makes me crafty...the internet esp. OWH.

Sarah  – (January 31, 2012 at 11:52 AM)

I am so in love with this awesomeness :) I love sketches they really help me get my craft on!

Cora  – (January 31, 2012 at 12:12 PM)

That was great fun. Had to fill my screen and watch it again. Just looking at all my supplies makes me feel crafty. I am only crafty when it comes to making cards.

Berni Cuttino  – (January 31, 2012 at 12:18 PM)

Crops, home or anywhere where I can put together a sketch. Sometimes have some jazz music in the background.

rscholz  – (January 31, 2012 at 12:35 PM)

Looking at other's work inspires me to make something.

Patricia Lindsay –   – (January 31, 2012 at 12:41 PM)

I started making cards because I hated paying for them, but now I do it because they will last longer than dinner or a clean floor!

adele holcomb  – (January 31, 2012 at 1:01 PM)

How fun is that!! Craft inspiration comes from everywhere. I get a lot out of picking features I like from other people's work, and learning new techniques.

Donna Hanley  – (January 31, 2012 at 1:04 PM)

OWH and our heros makes me crafty. I just sit and think about how much I would want to be able to send a card home if I were such a long way away from home. Then I think about how happy a family member is to receive a card letting them know that they are loved. Almost all of the cards I make are for OWH so that's were I get my "crafty feelings" from.

Sybrina K  – (January 31, 2012 at 1:10 PM)

Having a chance to use that creative part of my brain is what motivates my crafty side -- a math book editor by day, an OWHer by night!

Reta McDavid –   – (January 31, 2012 at 1:32 PM)

Loved the flash mob!!! You all were fabulous!!! Our Heroes Inspire and motivate me.

Kimberley Martini Young –   – (January 31, 2012 at 1:50 PM)

I love being crafty as I know someone else is benefiting from goodies and what talent I may have. I am so glad OWH is around.

Theresa  – (January 31, 2012 at 2:07 PM)

a clean work space & my sketch notebook. Looks like you are having a ton of fun at CHA!

Kathryn  – (January 31, 2012 at 2:31 PM)

What doesn't make me crafty? I'm always seeing things that inspire designs. I use my craftiness in my career as a teacher, too!
P.S. It would be great to win a CHA apron because I don't have a single apron in my house- crafting or otherwise! Thanks for the chance to win one signed by our fearless leader!

Sandi  – (January 31, 2012 at 2:54 PM)

What makes me crafty is looking at the gallery and also the sketches! I love looking at the gallery on the website to jump start my mojo!

JOAN  – (January 31, 2012 at 3:29 PM)

LOL!! Super cool! What makes me crafty is to look at all the inspirations on blogs and seeing all the new wonderful products in the market ;)

ThePurplePlace  – (January 31, 2012 at 3:37 PM)

Awesome!! I loved it and you DID a fabulous job on the dance!! WooHOO!

I would be Thrilled to win one of those adorable Pink Aprons...perfect for classes I have coming up!!

Hugs and Happiness,

Cyn  – (January 31, 2012 at 3:58 PM)

Oh my oh my!!! LOVE the flash MOB!! All you ladies look great!!!!

My inspiration for making cards is knowing they are going to a HEROS family that miss them and can bring a smile to their face. Our soldiers and their families do so MUCH!!! Praise God for them!

Yolanda  – (January 31, 2012 at 4:18 PM)

And you all are actually coordinated too. Fun! OWH makes me crafty.

Miss Sue  – (January 31, 2012 at 8:02 PM)

Shoot...I guess my post is too late, but I'm posting anyway! I love people that aren't afraid to do something like a flash mob! AND I love people willing to do something for our soldiers! My scrapping buddy and I have set a goal of 3,000 cards for this year!! We made over 2,000 Christmas/Holiday cards in 2010 and had a blast doing it!! Thanks for all you do!

Susan  – (February 1, 2012 at 2:23 AM)

I just got the email(somewhere between 1:45 am--and 5:15am EST), hope it is today and not yesterday...what makes me crafty??
lots of things...dreams, TV ads (believe it or not) photos in mags and elsewhere, blog viewing
and mosty the IMAGE I am working with.
Thanks for the opportunity. I would never be able to go to any event like this, so getting an apron would be a very cool thing for me.
Thanks, Susan
