Bloghops
For those who are new to bloghops, this is an effort of bloggers across the internet to share their love for Operation Write Home's heroes—service members deployed abroad, sacrificing for their country....and we send them handmade cards to write home on! We've sent over a MILLION cards, and have impacted military families in ways we'll never know!
CARD TO SHARE
This card is made with the American Angel image by MelJen Designs, and papers are from the Yankee Doodle line from We R Memory Keepers - read below for the blog candy to find out the prize WeR is offering!!
![]() |
Note: Cards folded this way get tucked ALL the way into the envelope; cards folded the other direction have the back tucked inside the envie, and the front hanging out in view. |
BLOG CANDY
What would a bloghop be without candy? We R Memory Keepers is giving us a great Yankee Doodle Prize Pack, pictured below...to enter to win, you'll need to find the secret code hidden among the blogs! Look for tips in BLUE like this first one - collect the letters in the shield at the top of each, unscramble, and enter the answer in a comment on the last stop - the Homefront Blog! The winner will be randomly drawn from all correct answers. RESPOND WITH THE PUZZLE ANSWER ON THE HOMEFRONT BLOG ONLY. Or you'll be giving it away - and reducing your chances to win! lol.
*Note: If you're really short on time, you can hop just to the blogs with the hidden tips. See the asterisks in the blog list at the end of this post!

BLOGHOPPER TIPS
- Comment! Leave some love for the bloggers who have worked so hard to make this hop a success. See if you can leave something more than "nice card" — we all love to hear specific feedback about our creations!
- If you get "lost" (ie if a blogger posts a broken link or forgets entirely), simply come back here and pick up where you left off. We'll be checking the links and trying to get repairs done, so don't worry about reporting errors....just move on and enjoy the blogs!
- Keep a piece of paper handy to jot down ideas you want to go see again!
- To comment on blogs, many need you to enter your email address, Google account, etc. Unfortunately it's not uniform, so we're unable to assist if you don't have such accounts. You might wish to set up a temporary free Google account (using a free Google address that you can check, rather than your regular one).
- If you're entering for blog candy prizes and you do NOT have a blog (ie the person can't contact you by visiting your blog), you may wish to leave your email address in case you win. To cut down on spam, type it "name at server dot com" rather than "name@server.com".)
- If you're inspired, the last stop on the hop, you'll have the chance to add your card link! Join in the fun!
SPAMMER REMINDERS:
- Just go away, okay? Thanks.
- You're still here? Re-read #1.
CRUISE SURVEY
Yes, you read that right. We're pondering the idea of a cruise! Please take our short survey, it should take you about a minute or two to answer some real fast questions. When you click "finish" it will drop you right back here so you can start hopping! Click THIS LINK to take the survey.

I love the hop. When I was at Paper and String and click for the next blog, it didn't send me to Allison's Creations but Susan's ... DId I do something wrong??
This is so beautiful!! I love the sweet angel and that the inside of the card is decorated as well. Lovely work!
I love the card. Really like how you finished the inside of the card. Going to MelJen Designs to get the image.
Great card. I need to try this fold. I like the papers on the inside too.
Beautiful card! I love the strip on the top of the inside....it "finishes" the inside to me....I'm definitely going to do that!
Love the card. I'm especially drawn to those with a decorated inside, but find it hard for me to do. Had a little laugh at your reminder for spammers. Tee hee!

So sad I have been at school and missed my opportunity to play along, but definitely am going to go check out all the others!!!! This card is darling. That image is precious. Of course the colors are THE BEST as well!!! <3
Love the angel! I don't see a blue tip as you mentioned as "like this one" That whole paragraph is black.
i love that you agree that red/white/blue are not just for stars and stripes!
I just love this card. I'm ready to hop.
Wow, what fun is this. Many, many great ideas and inspirations...this is my first blog hop, but definitely not my last...thanks so much, I LOVE OWH.
Sandy, I love how you used 'traditional' red, white, & blue with the angel, as she is a bit unexpected! What a great compliment to each other--like PB&J!! Thanks!
What a cute card! Love the patterned papers you used!
What fun! Cute card, especially for a female type... sharon.gullikson at gmail.com

PS...blogger issues can be fixed by logging out, then logging back in and UNCHECK the keep me logged in button (for the time being, while blogger fixes their snafu)
I don't know how I missed this! I so loved being a part of it last time! I thought I was watching carefully. Your card is so sweet and just beautiful!
You really know how to make MelJen's (& all of the other companies) images shine! I love your coloring, and you really have the "eye" to put everything together in a way that's so pleasing to see.
Thanks again for all that everyone behind the scenes does for our Heroes!
Pretty angel - now if she would just be the angel she depicts and give us "intellectually handicapped" folks a hint to the puzzle - I have the letters but must have missed some hints someplace.
TFS,

What a delightful card! And I met so many new and talented people on this hop!
This is one hop I look forward to EVERY year and I sincerely appreciate your participation. My husband is a decorated Vietnam veteran and it's such a pleasure to honor those men and women serving our country in whatever capacity. Our heartfelt thanks go out to them AND to their families at home. Happy Memorial Day!

I was hoping Blogger would cooperate today, but it still isn't letting me comment on some blogs. I did leave comments for some other blogs on the Homefront blog, but since they aren't showing up yet, I thought I'd leave them here.
Dolores @ The Corner Studio: This card is gogeous with the blues and those gorgeous ruffles. Great use of paper scraps! Love the addition of that dainty butterfly, and your attention to detail like rounding your corners on the card. Great job!
Velda @ Old Stamper Musings: Love the dachshund stamp! My daughter has 3 of these cuties, but I think Tex is pretty sweet, too! Great layout, and I love the sentiment!
Samantha @ Expressions of a Craftaholic: Love the adorable Elmo card! I must get the punches out and make some of these SS characters. Love the circle embossing and the addition of the baker's twine for accents!
Shelly @ Create With Me: Love the CAS look, and how you used the letter "G". Great choice of background papers, too!
Kris @ A Work of Heart: Love that vintage metal chair stamp! I still have one that I sit on all of the time. Wonderful coloring, and I love your color choices on the ruffles!
Kate @ Hello from Kate: Love the bold look of this card. It really accentuates the sentiment. Thanks again for all that you do for OWH!
Julie @ Handmade by Julie: Love the soft colors. Great layout and love the white embossing on the DP. It helps to put the focus on the sentiment tag.
If I missed you along the way, it may be because I'm still not finished or I posted it on the Homefront Blog. More later!
Great blog hop.. I been participating once and I love the idea!!! Congratulations..
Magdalena
Thanks for hosting the hop. I have dial-up so a special THANK YOU to all the bloggers who paid attention to the blogger tips and made it easier for the hoppers to hop along. I am not quite done and I think I am up to 12 hours at this. I almost gave up a couple of times, but it has been worth the struggle.
Ok, I'm finally settled in and ready to hop! Beautiful card, Sandy!! I love all your layers and scalloped borders :)
Hugs! Dee
Thank you so much for all that you have done to organize this wonderful hop and to keep the troops in our thoughts and prayers.
I am getting another big shipment together for them.
I feel SO bad that I am unable to comment on a lot of the blogs since Blogger is behaving so badly this week. I just wanted everyone to know that if I didn't leave a comment it is only because I was unable to do so. I do love and appreciate al of the cards I have seen this weekend!
