Welcome to the Be My Valentine Bloghop!

This is the first stop on the hop - and we are SO excited! These events are always so full of excitement...so go get a nice beverage and a snack, get a paper and pencil to jot down ideas you want to return to...and let's get started!
**NOTE TO BLOGGERS! Sandy's at CKC today. Yolanda's keeping an eye on emails the first half of the day... please be patient! If you missed the bloghop link email (check spam folder, it was sent on Thursday), email bloghop@operationwritehome.org and Yolanda will send it to you. If you're unable to post today, send an email too and we can have the hop jump over your blog. Thanks!!!**
PS Please allow comments by "anyone" on your blog, turn off CAPTCHA and music. Let's make it easy for folks to leave you some love!

How the bloghop works
You'll be guided through by links; each blog will have a prominent link at the end of their post directing you to the next blog in the list. If that doesn't happen correctly, or you find yourself 'lost', come back here to this blog - you can scroll down the list at the end of this post and pick up where you left off. (Depending on your browser, you should see the color of the links change to reflect blogs you've already viewed. You may need to refresh to see that.)

Along the way you'll find folks offering blog candy (prizes) - be sure to pay attention to what you need to do to qualify. For some you just leave a comment, for others you may be asked to respond to a question, and for others, you might be asked to link up a project. If you leave an email address, type it this way: myname at aol dot com - that way spam robots can't pick up your email address :)

Note that this is a really long hop! It will take a long while to hop through them all. Blog posts will stay up all weekend, but the longer you wait, the more likely that a new post will go up, and you may need to scroll down to find the bloghop post. Links in the list at the end of this post will be updated to take you directly to the bloghop post, but that may not be til later in the weekend.

New to OWH?
For those new to OWH, we want you to know our Christmas card deadline has passed; we sent out many thousands of them, and our heroes are busy writing home on them in the next couple weeks. Our VALENTINES deadline is January 7th - getting the cards to a shipper sooner is preferred though. Especially if you want to help out with the Special Mission to get 4000 Valentines sent in by Dec 1st - if we meet that goal, our heroes get 4,000 cookies from Archway! Read more here. In December we'll post a list of deadlines for 2011, so stay tuned.

Card share
Here's a little Valentine inspiration for you - a valentine for a child, with a ladybug made on a Cricut (thanks Lori!), with a circle and scallop created using Nestabilities on a Cuttlebug.

TIP: when you send in a valentine that is stamped inside with "Happy Valentines Day" - you'll want to be sure to mark valentines in a section in your box, or we may put it in the general "love" category. We found some last year in March that we thought were "love" cards by looking at the fronts, and they had the holiday sentiment inside! Oops!
Blog candy
Today we're giving away a bunch of great 3D military stickers donated by EK Success---perfect for AnyHero cards! Winners will be able to request a branch, as long as supplies last. We'll draw 5 winners randomly from all comments left on this post.
Sampling of the kinds of stickers. Winners may be able to choose branch of service.

Next blog
The next blog on the hop will be Dixie, our east coast shipper...she's got a great valentine to share with you, as well as some tips from a shipper!
